Aureo y Calicó sale 447, lot 1323

This specimen was lot 1323 in Aureo y Calicó sale 447 (Barcelona, March 2025), where it sold for 150 € (about US$196 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "1837. Isabel II. Jubia. 4 maravedis. Encapsulated. Nice. EBC+/S/C- [choice extremely fine to about uncirculated]." This type was struck at Jubia 1837, 1840-50 and is a modified form of KM 511. The prior type had the reverse legend reading "REYNA DE ESPANA Y DE LAS INDIAS."

Recorded mintage: unknown but fairly common.

Specification: copper, 6.05 g, 22.0-24.5 mm diameter.
