This specimen was lot 2770 in Aureo y Calicó sale 422 (Barcelona, December 2023), where it sold for 27 € (about US$35 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "1801. Carlos IV. Sevilla. CN. 2 reales. BC+ [choice fine]." This type was issued at Seville 1793-1808 and Madrid 1788-1808. They were debased in an attempt to keep them inside Spain. Assayer CN is noted for 1793-1808. The minors, especially one and two reales, are much more common than the pesos.
Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.
