This specimen was lot 1978 in Goldberg sale 81 (Los Angeles, September 2014), where it sold for $1,057.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Spain. Escudo, 1799-MF (Madrid). Charles IV. Choice original fully struck example. NGC graded MS-64." This type was struck for Spain in Madrid 1788-1801 and 1807 and is common. Assayer MF is recorded for 1788-1800.

Specification: 3.38 g, 0.875 fine gold.
