The specimen shown was lot 543 in Cayon Subastas sale in Madrid, on February 4 2012, where it sold for 260 € (about US$404 including buyer's fees). The catalog description [1] noted,
"Madrid. 8 reales. 1730. JF. Dos puntos de soldadura arreglados en campo anv. MBC-/MBC. (Madrid 8 reales, 1730-JF. Two spots of repaired soldering on the reverse edge. Very fine.)"
This type was issued at Madrid 1729-1730. All the early eight reales of Spain are rare and expensive.
