Spain 1613-S V 2 reales
This specimen was lot 8257 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $432. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN. Cob 2 Reales, 1613-S V. Seville Mint. Philip III. NGC AU-58. An angular but flat Cob with good detail throughout, and gentle light gray tone. The date is clear and the mintmark/assayer letter are visible." This cob was issued from Seville 1599-1607 and 1611-20. Assayers B and D are both recorded for 1611. Similar cobs were produced at Granada, Madrid, Valladolid, Toledo and Segovia. Segovia also issued milled 2 reales.
