Aureo y Calicó sale 448, lot 126

This specimen was lot 126 in Aureo y Calicó sale 448 (Barcelona, March 2025), where it sold for 1,200 € (about US$1,568 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Catholic Monarchs. Segovia. 1/2 real. Obv.: Crowned FY. +CO DEVS*COIVNGIT(...). Rev.: Quartered castles and lions, aqueduct below. +FERNANVS*EC*ELI*SABT*. Prior to Pragmatica. L of ELI rectified over a D. Very rare. MBC/MBC+ [choice very fine]. Ex Isabel de Trastamara Collection 12/12/2018, no. 586." This half real, featuring an early version of the aqueduct mintmark, is much scarcer than later issues featuring the yoke and arrows reverse.
