This specimen was lot 41393 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Schwarzburg-Arnstadt. 2/3 Taler, 1676. Anton Guenther II. PCGS AU-50. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." The third Schwarzburg-Arnstadt line was founded 1642 but fell extinct in 1716 with the death of Anton Gunther II. The state was merged back into Schwarzburg-Sondershausen. This type was struck 1676-78 and is fairly common; the thalers from this state are very rare.
