Saxony 1742 1/2 thaler KM-A907
This specimen was lot 1231 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €240 (about US$305 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM, Friedrich August II. 1733-1763. 1/2 Reichstaler 1742, Dresden, auf das Vikariat. Kahnt 640 (dort als 2/3 Taler bezeichnet). Hübsche Patina, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, Frederick Augustus II, 1733-63, half thaler of 1742, Dresden mint, on his vicariat. Handsome patina, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This commemorative was issued 1741-42. It accompanied a thaler (Dav-2669). A regular issue half thaler (KM A879) also exists.
