This specimen was lot 1491 in Goldberg Sale 146 (Los Angeles, July 2025), where it sold for $66. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Saxony. Vicariat Groschen, 1741. Friedrich August II. Duke on horseback. Reverse: Empty throne. PCGS graded About Uncirculated Detail (Cleaned). The Augustana Collection." This type was struck 1741-42 to celebrate the elector's assumption of the vicariat, temporary ruler of the Holy Roman Empire until Charles VI's successor could be elected.
