This specimen was lot 1202 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €160 (about US$216 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM, Johann Georg II. 1656-1680. 1/3 Taler 1666, HI, Bautzen, für die Oberlausitz. Sehr schön. Exemplar der Slg. Bernhard Terletzki. Exemplar der Auktion Dr. Busso Peus Nachf. 280, Frankfurt/Main 1972, Nr. 973. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, John George II, 1656-80, one-third thaler of 1666, Bautzen mint, for Upper Lusatia. Very fine.)"
This type of 1666-68 is very similar to a fifteen kreuzer (KM 514) struck at the same mint 1666-67 for the same province. This is the first issue of this denomination, which would continue in production into the nineteenth century.
