Sincona sale 13, lot 2160

This specimen was lot 2160 in Sincona sale 13 (Zürich, October 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "DEUTSCHLAND, Sachsen, Kurfürstentum, Albertiner, Johann Georg II. 1656-1680, Taler 1667. Dresden Sehr schön-gutes sehr schön." In addition to this type, struck 1658-80, the SCWC notes a thaler struck on quarter thaler dies (Dav-7617A). The similar Dav-7619 has a plumed helmet on the table instead of the electoral cap shown here.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
