This specimen was lot 3472 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €24,000 (about US$32,347 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DIE GEISTLICHKEIT IN DEN HABSBURGISCHEN ERBLANDEN, Max Gandolph von Küenburg, 1668-1687. 10 Dukaten 1668, auf seinen Regierungsantritt. Variante mit nimbierten Heiligen. (geflügeltes Engelsköpfchen) MAXIMIL : GANDOLPH9 D : G : ARCHIEPS : SALISB : SE : AP : LE : S : R : I : PR : Sechsfeldiges Stifts- und Familienwappen, darüber Kardinalshut mit herabhängenden Quasten, zu den Seiten DEO - DVCE und unten die geteilte Jahreszahl 16 - 68, umher Laubkranz//(geflügeltes Engelköpfchen) SS : RVDBERTVS · ET · VIRGILIVS · PATRONI · SALISBVRGENSES · Die beiden Stiftsheiligen St. Rudbertus und St. Virgilius sitzen nebeneinander mit Mitra, Salzgefäß und Krummstab auf Wolken, die Köpfe einander zugewandt, davor Dommodell, umher Laubkranz. The Archbishopric of Salzburg was an ecclesiastical state between Bavaria and Austria and usually ruled by a Hapsburg client. This type also comes in klippe form (KM 605); it was accompanied by a quintuple ducat (Fr-802) among others. In the seventeenth century, Salzburg was blessed with a number of productive silver mines and the prince-archbishop was a prolific issuer of coins, particularly thalers. The archbishopric was secularized in 1803 and passed to Austria in 1814.
