This specimen was lot 1606 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $8,225. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Ruble, 1907-EB. NGC PROOF-62 CAMEO. Lovely reflective surfaces and multi-hued iridescent toning. Very attractive." In 1886, the ruble was reduced to 20 grams after having been fixed at 20.73 grams since 1798. This is a scarce date for the type, which ended in 1915.

Recorded mintage: 400,000.

Specification: 20 g, 0.868 fine silver.
