This specimen was lot 25411 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $1,762.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Nicholas II Proof 1 Kopeck 1907 СПБ, Nicholas II monogram / Date and value, Proof 65 Red and Brown NGC. Ex: Falz-Fein Collection. Well struck with no noticeable flaws. Nice brown patina with a touch of original golden color." This type is listed for 1867-1914. The nineteenth century dates are scarce in nice condition but the later dates are common with, of course, the exception of the proofs. In 1914, Russia plunged into World War One, which conflict would lead to the destruction of the regime.

Recorded mintage: 20,000,000 plus a few proofs.

Specification: 3.3 g, copper, 21.5 mm diameter.
