Sincona sale 19, lot 957

This specimen was lot 957 in Sincona sale 19 (Zürich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 650 (about US$815 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "½ Kopeck 1908, St. Petersburg Mint. Choice brilliant proof." This type was struck at St. Petersburg 1894-1900 and 1908-14 in large numbers.

Recorded mintage: 8,000,000.

Specification: 1.6 g, copper, 16 mm diameter, this specimen 1.62 g.
