Sincona sale 84, lot 300

This specimen was lot 300 in Sincona sale 84 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 150 CHF (about US$202 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, 20 Kopecks 1831, St. Petersburg Mint, SPB NG. Open "2" variety. Rare. 6 roubles according to Ilyin. Very fine."

This type, listed for 1826-31, is scarcer than preceding (KM C128) or succeeding types (KM C165).

Recorded mintage: 385,000.

Specification: 4.14 g, 0.868 fine silver, this specimen 4.08 g.
