Sincona sale 84, lot 302

This specimen was lot 302 in Sincona sale 84 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 225 CHF (about US$303 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, 5 Kopecks 1831, Suzun Mint, SM. 0.5 rouble according to Petrov, 1 rouble according to Ilyin. About extremely fine."

This type was struck 1831-39 at Suzun (shown here) and Ekaterinburg. The St. Petersburg mint issued silver five kopeks (KM C163) as well.

Recorded mintage: 5,900,000.
