This specimen was lot 24760 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Ruble, 1809-CNB OT. NGC VF Details--Excessive Surface Hairlines." The SCWC records this product of the St. Petersburg mint (СПБ) for 1807-10, with mintmaster MK (МК) for 1808-09 and assayer FG (ФГ) for 1803-11. The type is much scarcer than later rubles of Alexander I (Dav-281).
