This specimen was lot 1565 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $7,050. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Ruble, 1808-CNBMK. PCGS MS-62 Secure Holder. Sharply struck. Beautiful rose hued toning." The SCWC records this product of the St. Petersburg mint (СПБ) for 1807-10, with mintmaster FG (ФГ) for 1803-11 and assayer MK for 1808-09. The type is much scarcer than later rubles of Alexander I (Dav-281).

Recorded mintage: 1,701,000.
