This specimen was lot 217 in Sincona sale 84 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 325 CHF (about US$438 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, Kopeck 1809, Suzun Mint, KM10.24. Novodel. Very rare. Extremely fine-uncirculated. Small scratches on reverse."
No kopeks were struck for circulation in 1809. This gap is what is likely to have spurred the production of this novodel at a later date for sale to collectors.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: copper, this specimen 10.23 g.
