Russia 1810-EM 1/2 kopek KM-N441
This specimen was lot 427 in Sincona sale 78 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 1,300 CHF (about US$360 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA | Russian Empire and Federation | Alexander I. 1801-1825, Denga 1810, Ekaterinburg Mint. Novodel. Rare. Good extremely fine." The denga was half a kopek or 1/200 of a ruble. The year 1810 marks the transition between KM C112.1 (without wreath on the reverse) to KM C116.3 (with wreath). Both C112.1 and C116.3 have the EM mintmark and assayer's initials HM, which this example lacks. Other dengas were struck at Izhora and St Petersburg.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 6.5 g, copper, this specimen 3.06 g.
