Russia 1810-SP FG 5 kopeks
This specimen was lot 221 in Sincona sale 84 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 45,000 CHF (about US$60,599 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, 5 Kopecks 1810, St. Petersburg Mint, SPB FG. Extremely rare. 60 roubles according to Petrov. 75 roubles according to Ilyin. NGC MS64. Cabinet piece with beautiful patina. From the Soedermann Collection, auction SINCONA 12, Zürich, October 2013, lot 436 (price realized: CHF 110,000). From the 'Russian Coins of 19th and 20th Century. Collection of duplicates from Russian Museums', auction Adolph Hess 204, Frankfurt, February 1931, lot 331."
This type was struck 1810-26. Unlike some of the other denominations, such as the poltina, no date above eagle variety exists for the 1810 five kopeks.
Recorded mintage: unknown but a rare date.
