Steve Album sale 51, lot 3284

This specimen was lot 3284 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $132. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIAN EMPIRE: Alexander I, 1801-1825, AR 20 kopeks, 1810, globe details a bit weak, otherwise well struck, better date, Good to Very Good." This type was struck 1810-26 and is fairly common. It was the first if this denomination struck since the death of Catherine the Great.

Recorded mintage: 250,000.

Specification: 4.14 g, 0.868 fine silver, 22.1 mm diameter.
