Künker sale 405, lot 3276

This specimen was lot 3276 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €14,000 (about US$18,370 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS JOSEF II., 1765-1790. Goldmünzen aus der Zeit des Kaisers Josef II. Dukat o. J. (1765-1790), mit Titel Josefs II. Münzmeister Georg Christoph Busch. Stempelschneider Johann Nikolaus Körnlein. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung MS 62 (6643582-012). GOLD. RR Attraktives Exemplar, vorzüglich +. (city of Regensburg, undated ducat, struck in the name of Joseph II. Graded NGC MS-62, very rare, attractive example, extremely fine or better.)"

The SCWC notes three undated ducats for Joseph II: KM 387/Fr-2565 ("SIBI CONSCIA RECTI", shown here), KM 388/Fr-2564 ("DVCATVS RATISBON"), KM 389/Fr-2554a (eagle reverse).
