This specimen was lot 1206 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $129.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "PRUSSIA: Friedrich Wilhelm III, 1797-1840, AR 4 groschen, 1804-A, struck in Berlin, PCGS graded MS63, ex Don Erickson Collection." This type was struck 1801-09 at Berlin (mintmark "A"), Breslau ("B") and Glatz ("G") while Prussia was enduring defeat and occupation at the hands of Napoleon.
