This specimen was lot 3999 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €85 (about US$118 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm III. 1797-1840. 4 Groschen (1/6 Taler) 1803, B. Mit Signatur L am Armabschnitt (Stempelschneider Daniel Friedrich Loos). Berieben, sehr schön. Exemplar der Auktion Möller 24, Kassel 1999, Nr. 801. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William III, 1797-1840, four groschen or one-sixth thaler of 1803, with the initial "L" below the bust. Polished, very fine.)"

This type was struck 1797-1809 and this is a fairly common date. It replaced the old 1/6 thaler. The Breslau and Glatz mint issues are scarce.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a scarce date.
