Prussia 1781-B 1/24 thaler
This specimen was lot 3582 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €100 (about US$139 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/24 Taler 1781, B, Breslau. Prägung für die Mark Brandenburg. RR Sehr schön +. Exemplar der Slg. Manfred Olding, Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 10, Osnabrück 1988, Nr. 235. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, 1/24 thaler of 1781, Breslau mint, struck for the mark of Brandenburg. Very rare, very fine or better.)"
This type was struck 1764-69 and 1781-86 at Berlin, Breslau (shown here), Magdeburg (until 1766) and Königsberg. Most dates are common but this one is rare.
Recorded mintage: unknown but a rare date.
