Künker sale 353, lot 3560

This specimen was lot 3560 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €95 (about US$132 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/48 Taler 1741, EGN, Berlin. Prägung für die Mark Brandenburg. Münzmeister Ernst Georg Neubauer. Feine Patina, fast vorzüglich. Erworben am 28.5.1972 von der Bank Leu AG, Zürich. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, 1/48 thaler of 1741, Berlin mint, struck for the mark of Brandenburg. Fine patina, about extremely fine.)"

This type was struck Berlin 1741 only but is common. Altho valued at 1/48 thaler, this coin had 1/53 as much silver.
