Prussia 1741-EGN 2/3 thaler
This specimen was lot 336 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €3,800 (about US$5,122 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 2/3 Speciestaler 1741, EGN, Berlin. RR Attraktives Exemplar mit feiner Patina, fast vorzüglich/vorzüglich. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II (the Great), 1740-86, two-thirds thaler of 1741, Berlin mint. Rare, attractive example with fine patina, about extremely fine/extremely fine.)"
This is the first two-thirds thaler of Frederick the Great and the only gulden issued between 1719 and 1796.
