This specimen was lot 43263 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $1,020. The catalog description[1] noted, "PORTUGAL. Peca (6400 Reis), 1791. Lisbon Mint. Maria I. NGC AU Details--Reverse Cleaned." This type was struck 1789-93 and 1796-99 for the widowed queen Maria I. It is frequently called a four escudos altho it is not particularly close to the Spanish four escudos in module.
