This specimen is lot 2689 in UBS sale 84 (Basel, January 2010). The catalog description[1] noted, "BRAZIL. Maria I. 1786-1799 (1805). 6400 Reis 1791, Rio. Bust with headdress right, date and mintmark below. Rev. Crowned shield of arms. Extremely fine-almost extremely fine." This type was struck 1789-1805 and is among the most common colonial gold coins of Brazil.
