The twenty-five centavos denomination was little used in Peru until the issue of this one-year type in 1965. It commemorated the four hundredth anniversary of the founding of the Lima mint in 1965 and is accompanied by a half sol (KM 239), sol (KM 240), twenty soles (KM 241, silver) and fifty soles (KM 242, gold). This denomination was issued in various forms until 1975.

Specification: 3.2 g, brass, 21 mm diameter, reeded edge.
