This specimen was part of lot 40315 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $2,291. The catalog description^[1] noted, "PERU. 100 Soles, 1965. PCGS MS-66." This type was struck in Lima 1950-70 in limited numbers as a bullion coin. This date is relatively common. Gold five, ten, twenty and fifty soles were struck during the same period.

Recorded mintage: 23,000 (highest mintage date).

Specification: 46.80 g, 0.900 fine gold, 1.3544 oz AGW.
