This specimen was lot 75753 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $195.20. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU. 4 Reales, 1793-LIMA IJ. Lima Mint. Charles IV. PCGS VF-30. From the Richard August Collection." Per Harris[2], of the five mints that struck four reales for Charles IV, Lima is the rarest, showing only only one-ninth as many as Potosi and two-ninths as many as Mexico. Assayer "IJ" is noted for the years 1788-1803.
