This specimen was lot 21261 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Papal States. 30 Paoli (Doppia d'Oro), 1780. Pius VI (1775-99). NGC MS-63. From a seldom seen type struck in Rome from 1776 to 1785. The fields display a sprinkling of die rust mixed with bright luster and a hint of reddish color adorns the edges. The single finest graded example of the date at NGC. Ex: Christie's auction, November 2011, Lot #588." This type was issued 1776-85 and is not rare in circulated condition.
