This specimen was lot 810 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "OMAN: Qaboos bin Said, 1970-2020, AR 1/2 omani rial, 1993/AH1413, Youth Year, mintage of only 600 pieces, Proof, R, ex Dr. Wolfgang Schuster Collection." Qaboos died in 2020, aged 79 years, after a fifty year reign. He was succeeded by his first cousin, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said. A number of his NCLT's lack AH dates, surprising for a country so overwhelmingly Muslim.
Recorded mintage: 600.
Specification: 15 g, 0.925 fine silver.
Catalog reference: KM-91.
