This specimen was lot 42511 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $2,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "OMAN. 5 Omani Rials, AH 1411/1991. Qaboos bin Said. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. Commemorating the "year of industry," this glistening specimen, which resides at the precipice of perfection, dazzles with wondrous eye appeal and is tied with just one other example for the top spot in the NGC census." This NCLT was accompanied by a silver half rial (KM 86).
