This specimen was lot 11009 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €384 (about US$400). The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. 2 Mark, 1644. Christiania mint. Christian IV. NGC EF-40. An exemplary specimen of the first date in this popular series. From the L. E. Bruun Collection. Ex: Aug. K. Krautwald Collection (Private Sale-1916)." This type was struck 1644-47 and is scarce. It was worth one third of a specie daler. The motto, "·IUSTUS· יהוה ·IUDEX·", translates as "God is a righteous judge". Some 1644's lack the mintmark "☘".

Specification: 11.14 g, 0.593 fine silver, 33.6 mm diameter, this specimen 10.80 g.
