CNG Lissner sale, lot 667

This specimen was lot 667 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $121. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS, Kingdom. William III. 1849-1890. CU 1/2 Cent. Utrecht mint; muntmeestertekens: sword and winged caduceus. H.A. van den Wall Bake, mintmaster. Dated 1850. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 65 BN. Deeply toned gem." This is a common date of a type struck 1850-77.

Recorded mintage: 2,000,400.

Specification: copper, 1.92 g, 16 mm diameter. This specimen is 16 mm diameter, 1.97 g, 6h axis.
