This type was struck 1848-49 at Utrecht. The 1849 is slightly cheaper than the 1848. A rare variety exists lacking the dot after the date. An 1849 25 cents of William III is also noted but is scarcer despite the higher mintage.
Recorded mintage: 4,050,589 plus 6,204,155 for William III.
Specification: 1.4 g, 0.945 fine silver, 14 mm diameter.
