This specimen was lot 24330 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. 10 Cents, 1849. Utrecht Mint; privy mark: sword. William III. PCGS MS-65 Gold Shield. A delightful gunmetal gray specimen from the first year of issue, this Gem presents a slightly more argent central nature ultimately yielding a cameo effect." This type was struck 1849-90 in large numbers and many dates are common tho this one is scarce.
Recorded mintage: 6,204,000 plus 4,050,589 for William II (KM 75).
