Sincona sale 43, lot 3469

This specimen was lot 3469 in Sincona sale 43 (Zürich, October 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALY, Modena, Francesco I d'Este, 1629-1658 2 Scudi doro o Doppia o. J. Sehr selten. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Unregelmässiger Schrötling. (duchy of Modena, Francesco d'Este, 1629-58, undated double scudo d'oro. Very rare, Very fine-extremely fine, Irregular flan.)"

The SCWC notes that this type was struck undated, as here, and dated 1631. It was worth two scudi, a little less than two ducats.
