This specimen was lot 34331 in Heritage sale 3082 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $1,140. The catalog description[1] noted, "Italy: Modena. Francesco I d'Este gold 1/3 Scudo d'Oro ND (1629-1658) MS62 NGC. Eagle, reverse four line inscription within cartouche. Of absolutely scarce quality for the issue, and representing the finest example that we have seen, this lustrous specimen showcases an even, well-placed strike over glimmering surfaces revealing no heavier signs of contact. A standout example, and quite appealing in Mint State preservation." This is listed in the SCWC using the Friedberg number. It is rare.
