This specimen was lot 71161 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Middlesex. Newgate. Copper 1/2 Penny Token, 1795. PCGS MS-65 Brown. A bold and highly detailed example of this type. The Newgate Prison with a square tower in the center on the obverse. On the reverse "PAYABLE AT THE RESIDENCE OF MESSRS SYMONDS WINTERBOTHAM RIDGWAY & HOLT". Toned nicely with cobalts and reds throughout." This variety has a milled edge; others have lettered edges.
