This specimen was lot 1285 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $329. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN: AE ½ penny token, ND [ca. 1795], Political and Social Series, Middlesex, slave in chains kneeling right with AM I NOT A MAN AND A BROTHER around // two hands shaking with + MAY SLAVERY AND OPPRESSION CEASE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD around, two reverse spots of oxidation, hints of red, edge milled to the left, Choice EF." The second specimen was lot 75185 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $552. The catalog description[2] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Trade Tokens. Middlesex. Lutwyche's Copper 1/2 Penny Token, ND (ca. 1787-1797). PCGS AU-53. D&H-1039B." in our opinion, the second specimen was miscatalogued, so we have added it here, where it belongs.
