The specimen shown is a middle date of a series struck 1824-69 at the Durango mint. That mint struck all denominations, silver, gold and copper. This date is scarce, tho many dates are common. Assayer LT is also known for 1864-65. This specimen was lot 2380 in Goldberg sale 100 (Los Angeles, September 2017), where it sold for $1,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico. 8 Escudos, 1865-Do LT. Eagle facing right. Reverse: Hand with Liberty cap over book. PCGS graded Genuine, Uncirculated Detail (Cleaned)."
