This specimen was lot 31296 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "Charles & Johanna "Late Series" 2 Reales ND (1542-57) Mo-S AU53 NGC, Mexico City mint. Lustrous in the centers with light tone around the peripheries; wonderful metal quality throughout. An impeccable survivor of this very rare 'S' assayer 2 reales issue. Selections from the Isaac Rudman Numismatic Cabinet."
