The first specimen was lot 690 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 21 (Winter Park, FL, May 2017), where it sold for $176.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico City, Mexico, 1 real, Charles-Joanna, 'Late Series,' assayer O/L to left, mintmark oM to right. XF+, richly toned, with full details including legends, bold over-assayer." This undated type is recorded with assayers A, D, G, L, O, R and S, suggesting a substantial and lengthy production.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.38 grams, 0.931 fine silver, the first specimen 3.40 grams.
