This specimen was struck for the Archbishopric of Mainz in 1693-94 while Anselm Franz von Ingelheim ruled as archbishop (1679-95). Like many German minor issues, it is likely much scarcer than the catalog value indicates but collector demand for them is low. This specimen was lot 35466 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2022), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Mainz. 12 Kreuzer, 1692-CB. Anselm Franz. NGC MS-65." This type was struck 1691-92 with mintmasters CB (shown here) and IGL.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: silver.
