Iran AH 1313 5 krans
This specimen was lot 52390 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. Silver Medallic 5 Krans, AH 1313 (1895). Tehran Mint. Nasir al-Din Shah. PCGS Genuine--Mount Removed, AU Details. Commemorating the Shah's golden jubilee. Obverse: Bust facing slightly left in military attire and wearing plumed kepi; Reverse: Legend and date in three lines in Persian. Despite the noted mount removal, this pleasingly toned example remains an enchanting specimen with great overall detail remaining." The auctioneers catalogued this piece as KMX 14, which is the gold version. Both are rare. Many come with a loop soldered on; the SCWC says this was not done by the mint.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 23.02 g, 0.900 fine silver.
Catalog reference: KMX-11.
